Abstract

Study aim: This study aimed at identifying the practicing degree of servant leadership by UNRWA school principals in Gaza Governorates and its relation with professional affiliation among their teachers. It also aimed at finding out the significance of teachers' mean scores differences concerning this practicing attributable to the study variables (sex, academic qualification, and years of services). Study methodology: To achieve the study objectives, the researcher adopted the descriptive-analytical approach. Study tools: The researcher used two questionnaires. The first one was to measure the practicing degree of servant leadership by UNRWA school principals in Gaza Governorates consisting of four domains. The second one was to measure the degree of professional affiliation among their teachers. Study population and sample: The study population consisted of all male and female teachers working within UNRWA schools in Gaza Governorates totaling (8944) teachers. The study sample consisted of (760) teachers selected using stratified random sampling method. The most important results of the study: 1. The practicing degree of servant leadership by UNRWA school principals in Gaza Governorates is high with a relative weight of (83.20%). 2. The degree of professional affiliation among the investigated teachers is considerably high with a relative weight of (88.80%). 3. There are statistically significant differences at the level of (α ≥1.10) between the mean scores of sample respondents concerning the practicing degree of servant leadership by UNRWA school principals in Gaza Governorates and its relation with professional affiliation among their teachers attributable to the sex variable in favor of females. Additionally, there are differences attributable to years of services variable in favor of the larger number of years. However, there are no differences attributable to academic qualification variable. 4. There are a statistically significant and positive correlative relation at the level of (α ≥1.10) between the mean scores of sample respondents concerning the practicing degree of servant leadership by UNRWA school principals and their mean scores of professional affiliation level equaling to (0.622) The most important recommendations of the study:  Organizing training courses for educational leaders about the concept of servant leadership, its significance, its related practices, and its role in increasing professional affiliation among teachers.  Expanding the scope of teacher's participation in planning and decisionmaking as well as paying attention to their opinions and requests.
