Abstract

Using the inductive approach, this study aimed at identifying the concept of pathological justification in the light of the Holy Quran and deriving the personality traits associated with those who resort to such justification. The study revealed the following findings: 1. Pathological justification has definite criteria and indicators reflected in lying, deception and depends on weak justifications and refusal of shouldering responsibility of actions. 2. Pathological justification is used to justify indecent actions and defending corrupted doctrines and thoughts. 3. Pathological justification is associated with negative personality traits in various aspects: intellectual, moral and psychological. The study recommended that researchers should study the concept of justification in the light of Islamic criteria derived from the Holy Quran. The study also emphasized the importance of increasing cooperation between scholars, teachers and preachers in contemporary Islamic communities in the field of fighting pathological justification and working to limit it.
