Abstract

This study aims to identify the situation of entrepreneurship in Palestinian universities through comparing between Community Service and Continuing Education Deanship (CSCED) in the Islamic University of Gaza and Continuing Education Center (CEC) in Al Azhar University. To fulfill study aims, the researcher collected the data from different resources, adopted the analytical method, and used the questionnaire as a min tool. Study sample included 200 students of CSCED and CEC. The researcher distributed 30 questionnaires as a pilot sample; then he distributed 200 questionnaires and retrieved 160 ones representing 80%, and finally used SPSS program to analyze the collected data. Study results showed that creativity, innovation, calculated risk, independency, competitiveness and entrepreneurship culture have average role on entrepreneuring tendency in CSCED. Meanwhile, such factors have slight effect on the same tendency in CEC. The study concluded with set of recommendations that help in increasing consideration of entrepreneurship in both CSCED and CEC. The researcher recommended CE management in Al Azhar University to develop CEC performance and promote the level of entrepreneurship. CSCED should also provide more support for research and development projects that enhance creativity, and secure supporting material and informational environment and base. CSCED and CEC are recommended to work hard to fundraise and attract training for entrepreneurship and marketing consultancy services besides other fields.
