TitleThe Availability Level of Entrepreneurial Characteristics for Undergraduate Business Students in the Universities of the Southern Part of West Bank

Abstract

This study aims at identifying the availability level of entrepreneurial characteristics for undergraduate business students in the universities of the southern part of West Bank, the effect of some demographic variables on these characteristics and knowing the entrepreneurial requisites needed by those students to go to the entrepreneurial work. For achieving the purposes of the study, the researcher adapted descriptive methodology and used the questionnaire as a tool for primary data collection. Besides, books and previous studies were used as a secondary data source. The study found that the availability level of entrepreneurial characteristics for the respondents with high degree as follows _from the most to the least important_: planning, locus of control, self confidence, high level of power, perseverance, and commitment, communication with others, independence, risk taking and the need for achievement. On the other hand, the study reveals the requisites of entrepreneurial work are as follows _from the most to the least important_: capital, entrepreneurial idea, training courses, supportive legal environment, technological knowledge, infrastructure, and supportive social culture. Finally, it is found that there is no effect for sex, accumulated average, general exam (Tawjihi) and enrolling in youth entrepreneurial programs on respondent's entrepreneurial characteristics, while there is an effect refers to the university variable. At the end the researcher presented recommendations according to the above results.
