TitlePalestinian Audience Awareness in Hazards of their Children Use of Smart Phones: A Field Study

Abstract

This study attempts to reveal the awareness of the Palestinian audience on the hazards health, of their children use of smart phones, and the audience's knowledge of these hazards. An online survey was applied on sample of 404 parents with children under 14 years from Gaza Strip, from 3 to 8 September 2019. The results shows that the majority of respondents have more than one smart phone in their homes. Their children's daily use of smart phones was moderate to high. It was found that the majority of the audience derives their awareness of the hazards of smart phones from modern electronic means such as websites and social networks. The health hazards were laziness and sleeping late, and the observed by the Psychological hazards were Nervousness, Finally the social hazards were Lack of communication and interaction with others.
