Abstract: This study aims to identify the impact of utilizing educational nasheeds and games in developing scientific concepts and some basic learning processes of third grade students in General Science subject in Gaza. The researchers adopted the quasi-experimental and the descriptive methods, and she applied them on 100 students from Al Shaate COED (B) School, as they represented the study sample. The researcher divided them into three groups, the first consisted of 34 students studied with nasheeds, the second had34 students learnt with educational games, while the last one included 32 students who learnt with traditional method. The researchers built a test of scientific concepts, and test basic science operations. Study results: 1. There are statistical dissimilarities regarding students’ grades in scientific concepts and learning processes pre and post tests in the first experimental group, which learnt by nasheeds, in favor of the post test. 2. There are statistical dissimilarities regarding students’ grades in scientific concepts and learning processes pre and post tests in the second experimental group, which learnt by games, in favor of the post test. 3. There are statistical dissimilarities regarding students’ grades in scientific concepts and learning processes pre and post tests between the first experimental group and the control group in favor of the first experimental group. 4. There are statistical dissimilarities regarding students’ grades in scientific concepts and learning processes pre and post tests between the second experimental group and the control group in favor of the second experimental group. 5. There are statistical dissimilarities regarding students’ grades in scientific concepts and learning processes pre and post tests between the first and second experimental groups in favor of the second experimental group. Study recommendations: • Utilize nasheeds as a teaching method in Science curriculum. • Utilize educational games in teaching elementary levels as such methods have emotional and cognitive effects develop students’ performance. • Train teachers on using nasheeds and games in teaching. |
