Abstract

After the mass destruction of thousands houses in the Gaza Strip, several governmental and non-government efforts dedicated towards planning for reconstruction of the damaged houses. Several modalities were proposed by different organizations to cope with re-housing the affected families. Most of the proposed modalities were promoted by the concerned organizations without considering the clients opinions. This research is aimed to make a field backup from the beneficiaries about the optimum solution for rebuilding their houses. A public survey questinnaire among the effected families is conducted to explore their opinion regarding the proposed reconstruction modalities. The optimum construction model is introduced. Most of the people in the Gaza Strip prefers to have the money directly from the financing Agency and that they prefer to select the contractor who is going to build the house on their own …
