TitleRelation of approaches to Developing Organizational Commitment with Organizational commitment's level of Palestinian Police Officers in The Gaza Strip

Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the relationship between the Organizational Commitment Development Approaches (Job Enrichment, Recruiting and Selecting new employees whose values conform with the organizational values and Finding sort of compatibility between the interests of individual and organization) with Organizational Commitment for the Palestinian Police Officers in the Gaza Strip. The study was randomly applied on a stratified sample of (480) officers holding a rank from lieutenant to Colonel in Gaza Governorates. The descriptive analytical methodology and proper statistical methods have been used to test the hypotheses. The most important findings of the study are: There is a positive statistically significant relationship at the level of (.05 ≥ α) between the Organizational Commitment Development Approaches and Organizational Commitment of the Palestinian Police Officers in Gaza Strip and Palestinian Police Officers have a high degree of Organizational Commitment with a mean of 76.74%, and high degrees of affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment with means of 78.90%, 75.00% and 74.16% respectively.The most important recommendations are: Police leadership should pay specific attention to the development of Organizational Commitment among police officers through (Job Enrichment, Recruiting and Selecting new employees whom their values conform with the organizational values and Finding sort of compatibility between the interests of the individual and the organization) and Police leadership is recommended to increase the current compensation of police officers, including services and benefits.
