Abstract

The research aims at identifying the role of the institutional self-assessment in enhancing the culture of quality in the Palestinian universities in the Gaza strip and shedding the light on the relevant difficulties of the cultural heritage that encountered the evaluation process from the evaluation teem. Recently, the Palestinian universities have held a project of self-assessment that covered all the aspects of performance, following different international standards. The researcher has followed the descriptive analytic approach, using the questionnaire to achieve the objectives of the research. It is worthy mentioned that the questionnaire has been applied on (60) members of the evaluation process. The study has found that the institutional self-assessment has a great effect on its different fields(institutional planning, management, institutional resources and services) in widely enhancing the culture of quality. It ,also, proved that there is a group of various difficulties related not only to the ability of the universities in providing evidences on the rightness of the answers(70.26%), but also to the acceptance of the results and changing the level of performance. The study recommends the integration of the databases to cover and document all the activities of the university, and
