Abstract |
The aim of this study was to investigate the perceptions of the Islamic University students about final exams, and to find wither there were statistically significant differences in students responses due to the variables of sex, college, and educational level. To achieve these aims the researcher used the descriptive-analytical method, and developed a questionnaire of twenty-two items distributed into three domains and administered to 824 male and female students. The results of the study revealed that: • The first domain related to exam control came in the first place with a score of 62.45, while the second domain related to exam content came second with score of 51.73, and finally, came the third domain related to student with score of 49.54. • There were no statistically significant differences due to sex in the first domain, while there were differences due to sex in the second and the third domain in favor of females. • There were no statistically significant differences in all domains due to college. • There were statistically significant differences due to educational level in favor of the third and fourth levels. On the light of these results, the researcher recommended that more emphasis should be given to high mental levels in exams, as well as, making students aware of the nature of exams. |
