TitleInfo Graphics In Palestinian News Paper: A Case Study Al Resalah News Paper

Abstract

This descriptive study aims to reveal to what extent Al Resslalla Newspaper is interested in info graphic in terms of its types, constituents, resources , and sites of publications. The study also attempts to identify the extent to which the present situation of the newspaper, subject of the study, is related to the use of info graphic. The study uses the survey approach and reciprocal relationships. Pertaining the research tool ; it is mainly a content analysis card with a sample of 104 issues of the above mentioned newspaper in 2016. The study revealed that Al Ressalla is the only Palestinian newspaper that is interested in the use of info graphic mainly in the domain of politics, community issues, local elections, and faction concerns. It was also found out that the use of info graphic was focusing on local issues , and was mainly concentrated in the final page of the newspaper . in all cases, the information source of the graphic was never mentioned. The study also revealed that newspaper used three types of info graphic : the chronological, the historic, and the topical, and when it came to forms of information, it was found out that the newspaper was interested in the visual and the written forms, yet in different percentage. Finally the study unveiled the relationship between the kinds of the info graphics and the issues that tackled.
