Abstract

Gaza Strip housing sector faces acute crisis mostly accelerated during Israeli aggression and siege during (2007-2014). The study aims to identify the aspects, indicators, directions and causes of the housing crises to show its seriousness and to estimate the accumulated shortages, so to seek smart solutions to limit these difficulties. The study aimed to shed light on the crucial issues of the Palestinian community essential needs, without expectation of recent siege removal. Therefore, Gaza Strip will face dangerous circumstances with negative consequences on housing. The most important results demonstrate that the housing sector suffers weakness, shortages and unbalance relationships between offers and demands. The average annual needs estimated is 18114 units, added to 60% of population suffering housing problems. We recommended that the Government should paid more attention to support funding, reduces the construction coast, depends on vertical housing and to accelerate the reconstruction processes relying on other countries experiences.
