Title in Arabicمعاني شعر الغزل بين التقليد والتجديد في العصرين المملوكي والعثماني
Abstract

This research studies the art of love poetry during the Mamlouki and the Othmani eras. It is an analytical study that tries to explain and highlight this type of art and to show its rank among other types. The study also attempts to clarify the traditional values which the poets reserved in their poetry and innovation manifested in the poetry of previous eras Furthermore, the research also points out the modern and unprecedented themes used during these two eras. Another aims of this research is to explore the trends of love poetry in both eras, and how far these trends were responsive to the prevailing economic, social , intellectual , and civilization factors during those eras. It also explains the influence of religion, which dominated the two eras , on the meanings of romantic and erotic love poetry. The researcher aims to motivate students to focus their interest on the abandoned and hidden treasures of literature and poetry in these two eras.
