|Title||Exploring Residents’ Attitude towards Implementing Housing Design Flexibility in the Gaza Strip|
Population density in the Gaza Strip rapidly increases overtime. This results in a noticeable consumption of housing land on the account of other land uses. This makes Gaza in need for innovative solutions that help increasing housing efficiency. This study addresses the potential of housing design flexibility as a possible solution. It examines residents’ attitude towards design flexibility. To achieve this aim, a filed study has been carried out. The quantitative analysis carried out leaded to accept the study assumption saying that users are satisfied with the idea of applying design flexibility in residential spaces and furniture to increase utilization efficiency of their housing units. This is true regardless several variables including income level. Thus, the study recommends implementing design flexibility in the housing market as a strategy that helps rationalization of resources consumption and securing adequate housing for all.
