TitleThe Degree of Administrative Empowerment Enabling by Palestinian Universities Academic Leaders and Organizational Commitment among Faculty Members

Abstract

Study Aims: The study aimed to identify the degree of the practice of academic leaders in the Palestinian universities in Gaza Governorates of administrative empowerment and its relationship with organizational commitment among faculty staff. Study Methodology: To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the analytical-descriptive approach. Study Tools: the researcher designed two questionnaires as tools for data collection: a questionnaire for administrative empowerment composed of (33) items distributed into (4) domains, and the other for the identification of organizational commitment consisting of (23) items distributed into (3) domains. Society and Study Sample: The study society consisted of all the deans and their deputies, and heads of departments at the Islamic University, and the University of Al-Aqsa, totaling (170) members, the study sample was selected using a comprehensive survey method,(155)questionnaires were retrieved, the data was using statistical analysis software processors (SPSS). Highlights of the study are: The degree of academic leaders in the Palestinian universities in Gaza Governorates enable administrative approval came a large extent, a relative weight (72.20%). There were no statistically significant differences for the degree of academic leaders in the Palestinian universities for administrative enable attributed to the institution, except in the field of training for the benefit of the Islamic University, and there are differences due to the variable Job Title in favor of the department heads, and the variable of years of service for the benefit of those years of service 10 years and over. Organizational commitment to faculty level approval came a large extent, a relative weight (81.80%). There were no significant statistical differences to the level of organizational commitment of faculty members due to the variable educational institution, job title, and years of service. The existence of a positive relationship correlation (proportional) between the degree of academic leaders in the Palestinian universities in Gaza Governorates administrative empowerment, and the level of organizational commitment of faculty members, and H was (0,619) The most important recommendations of the study: Based on previous results researcher recommends several recommendations including: Need to focus on the incentives system and a focus on individual bonuses linked to performance indicators. Provide training, learning, and the acquisition of information programs, through workshops or through conferences, or traveling abroad. Enhancing the organizational commitment of employees to serve the ojectives of the educational institution Keywords: administrative empowerment, organizational commitment, Palestinian universities, the provinces of Gaza.
