Abstract

Stud Aim: The study aimed to investigate the use of the staff members at the faculties of education in the Palestinian universities in Gaza of modern instructional techniques. It also aimed to find out whether there were statistically significant differences between the study sample’ mean of responses attributed to the variables of (academic rank – academic qualification - years of service) and then to put forward a suggested proposal for the development of their performance. Study Approach: To achieve the study objectives, the researcher used the analytical-descriptive approach to measure the degree of the use of the staff members at the faculties of education of modern instructional techniques. She also used the constructivist approach to provide the suggest proposal. Study Tool: The researcher used a questionnaire designed specifically for this study purposes. The questionnaire consisted of (36) items distributed into three domains which are (instruction - research - community service). The validity of the questionnaire was verified by refereeing it by a panel of interested and specialized Palestinian universities’ referees whose number was (13). Study Population: The questionnaire was distributed to all members of the study population whose number was (160) members, of which (120) questionnaires (i.e. 65% of the population) were returned. The study data were analyzed using the statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS). The study reached the following results: The total degree of the use of the staff members at the faculties of education in the Palestinian universities in Gaza of the modern instructional techniques got a percentage weight of (83.00%), which is a large degree of use. The faculty members’ responses to the study tool domains were in the following descending order: Instruction with a percentage weight of (78.20%), which is large, community service with a percentage weight of (67.40%), which is moderate, and scientific research with a percentage weight of (65.60%), which is also moderate. The study provided a suggested proposal that can be applied to develop the performance of the staff members at the faculties of education in the Palestinian universities in Gaza in the light of their use of modern instructional techniques through the findings reached by the study. Based on those results, the study recommendations were as follows: The study suggested proposal should be adopted by the Palestinian universities in Gaza. The faculty members should participate in workshops, lectures and mass media meetings that may serve the civil society via the video conferencing.
