The study aims at identifying the level of social intelligence among high school principals in Gaza Governorates، and its relationship to their professional performance، It also aims at identifying the level of differences of mean scores of secondary school principals’ estimates of social intelligence in Gaza Governorates. The sample of the study consisted of 400 male and female teachers who were selected according to a stratified random sample. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach، and the questionnaire as a tool for the study. The most important findings of the study: The degree of social intelligence of principals of secondary schools in Gaza governorates is a high degree. The professional performance of the principals of secondary schools in Gaza governorates is also high. There is a direct statistically significant correlation at the level of (0.05 ≤ α) between mean scores secondary schools principals’ estimates in Gaza Governorates to the level of their social intelligence and their estimates of professional performance. There is no differences statistically significant between means scores of the study sample in social intelligence related to the study variables (gender، years of service، educational level). The most important recommendations of the study: Conducting guiding programs and seminars to school principals about the concept and importance of social intelligence، and increasing their awareness of how to establish successful social relationships with others، and how to acquire positive social behaviors. Conducting training programs for school principals on how to develop social intelligence among workers in the field of education، and on how to equip them with the capabilities to deal with teachers understand their behavior and needs، and how to guide and supervise them. Strengthening ties with the local community through repeated invitations to parents and local community to visit the school and provide the necessary assistance to meet the needs of schools.
