TitleFiber-optic sensor for the determination of glucose using micellar enhanced chemiluminescence of the peroxyoxalate reaction
Untitled
Abstract

The use of cetyltrlmethylammonlum bromide (CTAB) as a surfactant to enhance the chemiluminescence (CL) generated from the reaction of bls (2, 4, 6-trichlorophenyl) oxalate (TCPO) with hydrogen peroxide has been Investigated In the presence of perylene with Incorporation of fiber optics. In the presence of 2 X 10~ 3 M CTAB, problems of mixing, and hence reproducibility, Involved In the peroxyoxalate system were eliminated, and the CL Intensity Is linearly proportional to the concentration of peroxide In the range of 8 X 10" 4 to 8 X KT2 M Hj02 with a limit of detection equal to 2.5 X 10* M H202. The coefficient of variation (five measurements) Is 0.3% for 10~ 7 MH202. Using glucose oxidase (GOx) Immobilized on an Immunodyne membrane, glucose could be assayed by measuring the concentration of the enzymatically generated peroxide. The calibration curve was linear In the range of 3 X 10" 2 to 3 X 10'e M …
