|Title||The Bound Polaron in Two Dimensions|
The problem of a two dimensional bound polaron is studied using the adiabatic strong coupling approach. The energy, the number of phonons around the electron, and the size of the polaron are calculated for the ground and for the first two excited states. The effect of an external magnetic field on the problem is also investigated. It is observed that the three fields affect each other in an involved and interrelated manner. In the absence of the magnetic field it is found that the degeneracy of the two excited states is lifted at lower values of a as b decreases.
