TitleThe Degree of Practicing Ethical Leadership by Elementary School Principals and its Relationship with Organizational Citizenship Behavior of Their Teachers

Abstract

Study Aims at identifying the degree of the ethical leadership practiced by the principals of the elementary schools of the UNRWA in Gaza governorates and its relationship with the organizational citizenship behavior of the teachers on the point of view of the teachers themselves. Research Methodology: The descriptive methodology Study Tool, The questionnaire. Study Sample: (450) teachers of primary schools of the UNRWA In Gaza Governorates. The most important Conclusions: The degree of ethical leadership practiced by the principals is very high with relative weight (%87.58). The degree of organizational citizenship behavior practiced by the teachers was very high with relative weight (%90.63). There is a positive correlation (0.671) with a statistical significance between the principals' practice of ethical leadership and the degree of their teachers' organizational citizenship behavior. The most important Recommendations: UNRWA education program should pay more attention towards the male principals to develop their leadership mode and it also should prepare an ethical behavior code that specifies the concepts, and the moral values based on practical reality. UNRWA education program should consider the organizational citizenship behavior as an organizational value and it should work hard to instill it in the hearts of teachers, principals and other employees. The Educational Development Center of UNRWA should hold training courses for principals and their deputies, especially the newly recruited, on ethical leadership. It also should implement awareness programs and training courses for teachers in order to introduce them to the importance of organizational citizenship behavior and its positive role in improving school performance.
