Abstract |
Study Aim: The study aimed to identify the degree of Gaza Governorates’ secondary schools’ principals’ practice of transformational leadership in the light of the Islamic educational thought, from the teachers’ viewpoint in light of the variables of (gender, academic qualification, and years of service). The study also aimed to propose ways to develop transformational leadership in Gaza Governorates’ secondary schools. Study Approach: The researcher adopted all of the deductive, descriptive, and constructivist approaches. Study tools: The researcher used two tools: - A questionnaire and an analysis card to measure Gaza Governorates’ secondary schools’ principals’ practice of transformational leadership in the light of the Islamic educational thought. - The focus group as an essential tool for suggesting ways capable of developing transformational leadership among the Gaza Governorates’ secondary schools’ principals. Study Sample: The study sample consisted of 330 secondary schools’ employees. Study Results: The study concluded with several findings, the most important of which were as follows: The degree of Gaza Governorates’ secondary schools’ principals’ practice of transformational leadership in the light of the Islamic educational thought was (high) with a percentage weight of (78.6%). There were statistically significant differences at ( ) between the mean scores of the study sample’s estimates of the degree of Gaza Governorates’ secondary schools’ principals’ practice of transformational leadership in the light of the Islamic educational thought attributed to the variable of gender in favor of the females. There were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance ( ) between the mean scores of the study sample’s estimates of the degree of Gaza Governorates’ secondary schools’ principals’ practice of transformational leadership in the light of the Islamic educational thought attributed to the variables of academic qualification and years of service. Study Resuls: The study most important recommendations were as follows: Promoting the concept of transformational leadership in secondary schools in the light of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah (traditions) of Allah’s Messenger, and to follow the Prophet's biography and successful models of leadership in our time. Finding out creative, transformational leaders within schools and selecting the most appropriate ones and involving them in the administrative decision-making. |
